I hope people will say things like, ‘I remember there was this film and Jimmy Stewart was dancing with some girl, and the floor opened up and underneath was a swimming pool, and they fell in’. It doesn’t matter if they can’t remember the name of the film, just that it made them happy for a couple of minutes, and they always remembered it. It’s a wonderful thing to have been able to give people little pieces of time that they can remember. I want people to say, ‘Yeah, Jimmy Stewart, he gave us little pieces of time.’
