Interviewer: Nick, what’s the funniest thing that’s ever happened on the set of ‘Parks and Recreation?’
Nick Offerman: Well, everything’s funny. But I recall one situation, not actually on set. We were all at a panel and we were doing a question and answer. And way up in the balcony was this tiny woman. And she was given the microphone and said, “Yes, hello. First of all, I’m a librarian—” and Amy, with literally no fucking pause, goes “YOU GET THE FUCK OUT OF HERE RIGHT NOW.” It was pretty awesome.

I’m not really your typical LA chick, am I? I get a lot of work even though I’m overweight. And, believe it or not, people tell me they don’t want me to lose weight. For Pitch Perfect for example, I had a clause in my contract that told me I could only lose up to two kilos for that role. Hey, that’s fine with me.

It’s hilarious, the problems that arise when you’re on the set. It’s really funny because you make a complete fool of yourself. I think I know how to use dissolves, the grammar of cinema. The low points I had all helped make up my character, so I probably wouldn’t want to do away with them because I like being flawed and I like having them help me grow and change and become better and stronger.
